![]() Currently Apache OpenOffice only reads the newer Office Open XML formats (OOXML) such as docx, xlsx, etc. The software can also read and write numerous other formats including Microsoft® Office. Of note, previous versions of this *.xlsx file did not exhibit this problem, so it may have something to do with the size/complexity of the spreadsheet. The default file format for Apache OpenOffice is the Open Document Format (ODF) for office applications. Reviewing the Bugzilla list, Issue 123022 seems similar, but I am not convinced it identifies the same problem. I have viewed the problem *.xlsx file with the MS Excel viewer and it displays correctly. If the file is saved in *.xls format from Excel, there are no issues – all fields are displayed correctly with OO Calc. The default *.xlsx file, when loaded into OO Calc, duplicates the text in the first three text cells. There are a total of 1,053 formulae and only 7 cells with text. This is a rather complex spreadsheet with both hidden and protected cells. Spreadsheet viewed using Windows 10 and OO Calc 4.1.3 (latest version) odt format and only export to Word upon completion.
