![]() The Redshift platform’s firmware and software upgrades result in more range, increased power and faster charge times. Alta’s new R-Pack utilizes state-of-the-art cell chemistry that delivers extended full-power range at cooler operating temperatures. According to Alta:īuilding off of Alta’s industry-leading A-pack technology, the highest-energy density battery ever put in a motorcycle, the new R-Pack represents the next evolution in battery performance. The 2019 EXR makes use of Alta’s R-pack battery technology. Hands down, this is the best enduro bike on the market, and a lot of fun to ride.Īnd now Alta is ready put that level of electric power and intuitive control in the hands of the public with their 2019 Redshift EXR. Even on the most treacherous trails, like the Iron Mountain, it’s really intuitive and easy to control. The Redshift EXR climbs ridiculously well. Tremaine commented on the electric motorbike: Ty Tremaine finished in 43 rd position on his EXR, beating 457 other bikes and demonstrating the EXR’s performance under the most extreme race conditions. Alta’s factory team riders, Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt, competed on nearly stock Redshift EXR’s, modified with only slightly tuned suspension and some added pull straps. You may remember Alta’s Redshift line of electric motorcycles stealing headlines last month when their Redshift EXR competed at the Erzberg Rodeo, arguably one of the toughest motorcycle enduro races in the world.įor the first time in the history of the Erzberg Rodeo, two electric motorcycles qualified for and competed in the endurance race. And now Alta has announced the 2019 Redshift EXR, poised to help push gas bikes even further to the wayside. ![]() Recent offerings have been packing more energy and power into two-wheeled EVs, helping them better compete against combustion-engine alternatives.Īlta’s Redshift EXR multi-terrain electric motorcycle is a great example of an EV in the motorcycle industry that has made a strong showing against a traditionally loud and proud gas-fueled sport. The real piece to note though is that Alta is brining its lineup into price parity with comparable gasoline-powered equivalents, which is a huge step for the electric brand. As battery technology catches up with the rest of the electric vehicle industry, electric motorcycles are increasingly replacing their gas counterparts. “The promise of electric drivetrains is here today, no longer a promise in the future.” ![]() “We are pleased to offer the superior performance of the Alta Redshift platform for the first time at a price that is directly comparable to the premium bikes in our segment,” said Matthew Work, Chief Revenue Officer. The move is surely the first public change by Alta Motors that we can attribute to the company’s new Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Work, who joined Alta late last year. The price changes for 2018 affect the Redshift MX (motocross), Redshift EX (enduro), and Redshift SM (supermoto) models, with MSRPs that align these machines much closer in price when compared to their established thermic counterparts.Īs such the new pricing is as follows: 2018 Redshift MX ($10,495), 2018 Redshift EX ($12,995), and 2018 Redshift SM ($13,495) – which means that these prices are dropping by several thousands of dollars (the MX model takes a $5,000 price decrease, while the SM is $2,000 cheaper than before). Good news from Alta Motors, as the San Franciscan company is sizably dropping prices across the board on its lineup of Redshift electric motorcycles.
